For a number of years the Washington State Society of American Foresters (WSSAF) has worked to reach out to the public about the forestry profession at the Washington State Fair. The Puyallup Fair, Western Washington Fair, or often now just The Fair, is consistently in the top 10 largest Fairs in the world
Twenty years after the Northwest Forest Plan was adopted, a new set of reports have been released that analyze the effectiveness of the Plan. The reports, which focus on the last five years, are available at: http://www.reo.gov/monitoring/reports/20yr-report/

Washington State Society of American Foresters is hosting the third annual Forest Products Legislative Reception in Olympia on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Please plan on attending. We are well supported by several companies and organizations and have reached out to smaller non-profits encouraging them to attend.
Cooperative at the University of Washington, Center for Intensive Planted-forest at Oregon State University, and US Forest Service's Pacific Northwest Research Station. The outcomes provide information for wood property model construction and further research in assessing stand conditions on Douglas‐fir plantations. She would be presenting some results in growth parameters and wood property respects.
