Welcome to the Cook Inlet Chapter Page!
Chapter Communications
The Cook Inlet Chapter of Alaska SAF covers a vast area stretching from the shores of the Cook Inlet, Prince William Sound, and Kodiak Island to 63 North Latitude and 141 West Longitude and from Mt. McKinley west to the Bering Sea. Most of Alaskas forest types are found within the Cook Inlet Chapters boundaries; from coastal Sitka spruce and western hemlock forests, alpine mountain hemlock, and the white and black spruce, paper birch, aspen and cottonwood of our boreal forests.

Past Events
Alaska Aspen Workshop
The Cook Inlet Chapter of SAF along with the Alaska Northern Forest Cooperative hosted the Alaska Aspen Workshop starting in Fairbanks, Alaska September 12-14, 2017. Beginning with a series of lectures on aspen ecology, complemented with climate change, wildlife habitat, pathology, and entomology. This diverse group of researchers, foresters, wildlife biologists, and fire managers traveled to field sites on Nenana Ridge west of Fairbanks, to the Delta Junction Bison Range, and to several locations around Tok to view aspen stands of various age classes after a suite of treatments including fire and succession. Participants and speakers came together from diverse agencies and consortiums to share their knowledge and experiences. We look forward to another workshop south of the Alaska Range in the coming years. Many thanks to Paul Rogers from the Western Aspen Alliance for his insight and lectures.
