Juneau Chapter Meeting Barnacle: Coast to Kitchen

Lia Heifetz, a local kelp farmer and cofounder of Barnacle Foods, will discuss the science of kelp farming. Kelp farming is a low input, sustainable, natural form of aquaculture with a huge range of existing and potential products. It is an emerging and growing industry in the coastal Pacific Northwest and has many parallels with forestry from a natural resource management standpoint.

This meeting has been approved for 0.50 credits.

In allocating budgets, filling vacancies, and making hard choices, I have asked the Regional Leadership Team to prioritize active management and customer service, in partnership with the State, Tribes, local communities, and volunteers.
