Good article on using predictive modeling for fighting wildfire with data input from satellites, aircraft, ground observations plus data on weather, climate, fuels,  vegetation, lightning strikes, and past fire patterns,  (and more) all combined to create a clearer picture of wildfire vulnerability and a sense of where fire is most likely to strike.
